About the counter on my homepage : unlike others, my Internet Provider (Noos) doesn't supply a web counter facility. Therefore, I had to borrow a counter from another source. Based on the recommendation of Cybercable, I subscribed a counter with the service at http://www.compteurs.com. This service, unfortunately, was unreliably sporadic, so I subscribed to another similar service at http://www.TheCounter.com. I found more recently an excellent service from http://www.statcounter.com/, which offers you detailed statistics of the last 500 hits.

Is a counter really necessary, or is it another sign of narcissism? Well, whilst I should admit it is not indispensable, most owners of web sites can't resist the temptation of trying to know if their sites are popular...

Like my Euro background ? I photographed all coins and assembled them to a seamless texture. The 1 and 2 € coins are from Germany, Italy and Greece.
