For sulphonic (SAC) resins, the order of selectivity is:
Pb++ > Ca++ > Mg++ > Na+ > H+
This means that you can remove hardness (Ca & Mg) with a SAC resin in the Na form, but you cannot remove Na selectively in presence of other cations.
