1835 - 1846

When the young Fritz von Dardel came to Stockholm in 1835 he stayed with his mother's brother Gustaf Lewenhaupt and his wife Sophie in their apartment in the "Falkenbergska huset", the Falkenberg house in the square in front of the House of the Nobles, Riddarhustorget. He became an officer at Svea Livgarde, in 1836 and very often stayed the night at the regiment, at Fredrikshof. In 1840 he left his uncle and aunt and like other young bachelors rented rooms somewhere in the centre, address unknown. He was granted several leaves from the army and travelled in Europe alone or with friends. He used Fredrikshof as an address for correspondence. In 1844 he was back in Stockholm and shared a flat with his friend from Geneva, Louis Amadée De Geer, called "Manne". In 1845 his address was Norra Smedjegatan 22. Shortly before his marriage with Augusta Silfverschiöld he moved to a flat in the centre, address unknown.

1846 - 1849 Blasieholmstorg 10

The newly wed couple Fritz and Augusta moved to the fashionable address Blasieholmstorg 10, second floor, after 3 months of wedding trip in Europe. The house and the property down to Norm Blasieholmen, now Nybrokajen were owned by the artist Professor Per Krafft. Their two first children were born, Fritz August in 1847 and Carl in 1848.

1849 - 1862 Brunkebergstorg 9

The family moved to the Kraemer house, "Kraemerska huset", in Brunkebergstorg 9 in 1849. In 1850 the third son was born, in 1853 Nils, the fourth son, in 1856 Augusta and in 1857 another son, Hans. 1858 - 1861 Fritz von Dardel was military attaché in Paris and the family rented a house in Versailles.

1862 - 1869 Lilla Vattugatan 19 B

In 1862 the family moved to Lilla Vattugatan 19 B, into a house owned by Claes Rudbeck. In 1866 Augusta gave birth to a daughter, Amélie. Their young cousin Henrik Ramel stayed with them during the winter 1866 - 1867.

1869 - 1874 Rörstrandsgatan 14 - 16 (now Wallingatan)

The family moved to a less fashionable address in a building owned by the building constructor and art collector Boman.

1874 - 1901 (1915) Blasieholmstorg 14

Fritz and Augusta von Dardel moved to Blasieholmstorg 14 in 1874 and after Fritz' death in 1901 Augusta stayed until she died in 1915. The house was sold in 1917. The property was bought from Adolf Peyron in 1873 by Dardel's father-in-law Nils, August Silfverschiöld. Dardel handled the affair on behalf of Silfverschiöld. The latter died in 1879 and Augusta and Fritz inherited the property. The group of buildings were soon named "de dardelska husen", the Dardel houses. The main building is on the corner of the square and Arsenalsgatan, the other buildings along Arsenalsgatan. The two buildings towards Nybrokajen were built in 1881. Georges von Dardel bought Nybrokajen 17 from his father in 1886.

The architect Johan Fredrik Åbom reconstructed the buildings, altered the façade and made the roof higher in 1874 and late the same year Fritz moved in with his sons Georges, Nils and Hans. The Dardel apartment was the piano nobile on the second floor. They had telephone installed. The widow Sophie Silfverschiöld, Augusta's mother, had an apartment below the Dardels, and when Sophie' s brother Carl Otto suddenly died, his children moved into a flat with a lady of companion at Arsenalsgatan 3. The eldest daughter Sophie Louise, stayed with her grandmother in Blasieholmstorg 14.

None of the Dardel children were married when they moved to Blasieholmstorg 14. By 1889 three of the sons and the two daughters were married and had their own homes. Nils never married and did not move from his parent's home until it was sold. Hans had a bachelor's flat in Arsenalsgatan 3. When he married in 1899 he moved to Arsenalsgatan 1. The oldest son Fritz and his family lived in Arsenalsgatan 1.
