A few sculptures and paintings
Visiting the Winter Palace has been a shock: I had heard about the Hermitage Museum, but I was not expecting such magnificence. Some of the world's most famous works of art are exhibited there. Huge collections of Italian, Flamish, French paintings have been acquired before the 1917 Revolution by the Imperial family and rich princes and merchants.
As it is permitted to take photographs in the museum, I spent, in a hurry, two hours on my second and last day shooting the rooms and exhibits, mainly statues because it is difficult to photograph a painting without special, professional lighting. Here is the result. Unfortunately, I have had no time to take notes of what I was photographing, so only few of the pictures have legends. Sorry for that. If you can help me about the artists and the title of their works, I would be very grateful.
